The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for recruitment for the position of Treasury Accounting Assistant.

Our R4D is anchored on the development needs of sub-Saharan Africa. We develop agricultural solutions with our partners to tackle hunger and poverty by reducing producer and consumer risks, enhancing crop quality and productivity, and generating wealth from agriculture, We have more than 100 internationally recruited scientists from about 35 countries and 900 nationally recruited staff based in various stations across Africa.
The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture seeks suitable Nigerian Nationals for the following positions at the Institute’s Headquarters, Ibadan.
Job Title: Treasury Accounting Assistant I
(2 year renewable Contract)
Duties:
Successful candidate will among other things perform the following:
Handling of blank cheques during working hours and alsowrite cheques;
Keeping of bank book records and statements of accounts of Suppliers;
Initiating letters of fund transfer, give notice of remittance of fund transfer to payees and respond to enquiries of fund transfer and payments;
Assist in the reconciliation of accounts from IITA Limited (UK), collate foreign suppliers’cheques and mailing through IITA Limited;
Responding Internal/External Auditors’ queries on payment to suppliers;
Handling of Oracle AP and GL responsibilities and carry out data entries activities;
Perform any other duties as may be assigned by your Supervisor.
Qualification and Experience:
National Diploma in Accounting or Intermediate ICAN certificate plus minimum of four (4) years accounting working experience in a well structured organization.

Be competent in the use of Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel.
Be honest, trustworthy, hardworking and be able to perform under pressure.
Key Competencies:
Hands-on knowledge of Grade Financial Applications.
Possession of typing skill and ability to enter data are added advantages.
